The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) has urged its members of staff to familiarize themselves with the institution’s Strategic Plan and understand how their work contributes to its objectives.
Acting Director General of the Authority, Timothy Kalembo, said this during the two-Day ICT staff training stressing that everyone should strive to align their day-today operations with the PPDA’s long-term objectives.
Comment9ing on the training Kalembo said the training was important in supporting the implementation of the Authority’s Strategic Plan, particularly Thematic Area One, which focuses on Digitalization.
He emphasized that staff understanding of the institution’s ICT goals is essential for improving performance and ensuring that technology supports the delivery of the PPDA’s mandate.
Kalembo also encouraged staff to actively participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening the Authority’s ICT capacity and apply the knowledge gained to their daily responsibilities.
“ I thus encourage the ICT Department to expedite the development of the Authority’s ICT Policy to provide clear guidance on the use and management of ICT resources in our offices,” he reiterated.
The training provided staff with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of ICT and their role in promoting the secure and responsible use of the Authority’s digital resources.
The ICT Division through the ICT Manager Jacob Mtitimila has since encouraged staff to put the knowledge and skills acquired into practice, noting that responsible use of ICT resources is important in supporting the Authority’s operations and strategic objectives.
